Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies
The Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) is a household study being conducted in multiple languages and in numerous countries with diverse populations, cultures, education levels, and life experiences. PIAAC is coordinated internationally by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Within the United States, PIAAC is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). Research findings from the PIAAC compare the cognitive and workplace skills of adults from 24 developed countries and regions.
