On October 4, 2013, Jaleh Behroozi Soroui made a presentation on the Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC). This survey provides a comparison of the adult workforce (ages 16–65) in 24 countries and regions in the areas of literacy, reading components (for assessing low literacy levels), numeracy, and problem-solving in technology rich environments. March 7 - Webinar Event: Introduction to the Center for the Study of Adult Literacy
On March 7th, 2013 American Institutes for Research (AIR) hosted a webinar for CSAL researchers to introduce the Center. The Principal Investigators of the Center discussed the activities, goals and timeline for the project. They shared information about their assessment battery, and discussed their approach toward developing and piloting a reading intervention for ABE Learners.
